Abortion treatments

The types of abortion procedures you may have depends on how many weeks pregnant you are and if you would like to be awake or asleep. If you have any medical conditions this might also affect which types of treatment we can offer you.

There are broadly two types of abortion treatment, the abortion pill (also called medical abortion) and surgical abortion.

Medical abortion: The abortion pill
The abortion pill involves taking medicines to end the pregnancy.

Surgical abortion
Surgical abortion involves a minor operation either awake or asleep. There are two types of surgical abortion:
Vacuum aspiration and Dilatation and Evacuation.
